Boeing, Boeing, this winter’s very funny and very successful dinner theatre, is entered in the Eastern Ontario Drama League Play Festival. This year, the Festival is hosted by the Peterborough Theatre Guild. The hosted festival takes place over five days and includes an awards brunch on the Sunday morning following the last production. Four plays are selected by a pre-adjudication or evaluation process. The winner of the Spring Play Festival goes on to represent EODL at the Theatre Ontario Festival held every year on the week before and during the Victoria Day weekend that is the May long weekend.

Boeing, Boeing was selected after being adjudicated during its run at the Best Western Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre. Producer Beth Hunt and director Jim Finan, along with the cast and crew, are thrilled to be taking their production, brilliant set and all, “on the road” to Peterborough for this year’s full-length play festival. For more information, see Eastern Ontario Drama League.

Written by Marc Camoletti and translated by Beverley Cross and Frances Evans, Boeing Boeing is delightful farce.  Bachelor, bon-vivant, and man-about-town Bernard lives a perfect life in swinging 1960’s Paris, juggling three gorgeous fiancées, all of whom are international flight attendants working different schedules. Throw old friend Robert and a new and speedier Boeing jet into the mix though and soon lies, excuses, and convolutions are flying around faster than planes. Catastrophe looms large… oh, and did we mention the maid?

The EODL Festival runs from April 4 to April 10, 2016. For more information, see The Peterborough Theatre Guild.
